Summary:
Under minimal supervision administers HR policies, practices, programs; and other human resources activities including but not limited to Employee Relations, Worker’s Compensation, Labor Relations and Recruitment and Retention programs primarily in the state of Ohio by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Main contact for all Worker’s Comp related activity, primarily in Ohio. In conjunction with the Safety Director, investigates accidents, follows open cases and prepares reports for Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation and third party administrator. LeSaint is Self Insured through the state of Ohio and in every state where we do business.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Promotes and develops LeSaint culture throughout the organization.
- Responsible for Unemployment in the state of Ohio.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Assists in coordinating management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions using behavioral hiring techniques.
- Prepares reports that measures and tracks headcount, turnover, budget to plan, etc. Other reports for Management as needed.
- Assists HR Director and HR Generalist in administration of benefits programs such as group health, and 401(k) Plans in conjunction with governmental requirements.
- Responds to and conducts internal investigations related to employee complaints.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Represents organization at personnel-related phone hearings and investigations.
- Maintains appropriate community relations within local community.
- Assists HR Director with company social activities.
- Other human resources or payroll duties as assigned by the HR Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct supervisory responsibilities, unless company growth. As needed, will provide general direction to the HR Assistant.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment is one of general office and warehouse.
The position requires travel to a variety of facilities throughout the U.S.
Travel is estimated at once per quarter – usually 2 days to one week in length.
